Joey Mankovich was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. He attended the University of South Carolina as a McNair Scholar, where he graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in accounting.
Joey returned home for law school, receiving his J.D. from the University of Kentucky Rosenberg College of Law in 2012. At UK Law, he earned several CALI awards and was an editor for the Kentucky Law Journal.
After law school, Joey worked as a judicial law clerk for former Kentucky Supreme Court Deputy Chief Justice Mary C. Noble. He has worked in civil litigation since, with his practice having primarily entailed defending healthcare providers. He also has a particular affinity for appellate work, having successfully appealed several cases to the Kentucky Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
Unrelated to law, he recently completed the University of California - Berkeley Coding Boot Camp program.
Joey has lived in Louisville since 2016. Presently, he lives in Butchertown with his cat, Kitty. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, bowling, kickball, pickleball, trivia, live music, nature, and UK basketball.
